I picked this Massey Ferguson 2605 up a couple months ago for what I thought was a decent price. very quickly into ownership it started dripping hydraulic fluid. slow drip turned into just pissing out of the weep hole and around the inspection plate. I'm assuming its input shaft seals of some sort, I'm replacing all of the seals I can get to with this thing split apart, is there anything else I should do or check while I have the pig split open like this? clutch seems like it got a bit wet but I honestly cannot afford to replace that right now, it never slipped or seemed like it was wet so fingers crossed it's fine to run it. is there anything I can do to help my odds there? any advice on this would be very helpful, it's my first tractor but obviously not my first go around tearing something apart.

Massey Ferguson Question
low

I started looking at tractors today, and was almost dead set on a 2605-2607, however, when I stopped at the MF dealer, he said to avoid the 2600 series as it was made in India, and their reliability was crap. He didn’t have any on the lot, and said he wouldn’t order them either. He recommended me towards the 1700 series and I sat in one and loved it for sure. Does anybody have any input on that where the 2600 series is inferior? He also said that none of his MF techs would repair the parts on those, just replace them.
