Known Issues
After tractor rolled and was pulled back to running condition, bright white smoke pours from exhaust until reaching temperature, then blue-tinged white smoke occurs intermittently at higher RPMs (2000+). Fuel injector cleaner added with no improvement.
Hey All, Just finished rolling my MF 1532, luckily no injuries. Wasn't able to shut it off until after it stop its roll. It has a custom cab on top which prevented it from fully rolling over and it landed on it's left side. Long story short after 24 hours and a pull of the glow plugs later, the tractor is running again. But what looks to me like bright white smoke pours out of the exhaust until the tractor has reached temperature. At this point only higher RPMs (2000+) will cause more white smoke intermittently. For note: Dad thinks the smoke has a blue hue to it, but my wife and I don't see it. What do you guys suspect broke during the roll and would cause white or possibly blue smoke? Am I safe to continue using the tractor in this state? For note, I have added fuel injector cleaner into diesel tank with mostly no results. That was the first google recommendation... Looking forward to what you guys think!
Hey All, Long story short, I rolled my MF1532 earlier this year, attempted to start it once stood up, and am attempting to fix the issues hydrolocking the engine caused myself. After purging the oil from the tractor cylinders and getting it running again; it started blowing white smoke... a lot of it, with some random pinging noises to go with it. Lacking the testing tools for cylinder compression tests etc, I chose to tear the motor apart. I've got the head off and can visually see that piston 1 is not rising to the top of the cylinder (missing by just over 1mm). I assume that likely means the connecting rod under the piston is bent? If so, am I, a not mechanic, going to be able to replace the connecting rod myself? Any help would be appreciated!
