Known Issues
Hey guys, question for you. I've recently managed to purchase a '67 Massey Ferguson 1100 at an auction. Was planning on using it as a general yard tractor. Get it loaded and home, everything appears to be working good. Sticky throttle and the hi-lo gear shift was stuck but we fixed those easily enough. Now, I didn't realise this at the time, but these models put the quadrant control for the 3PH into one lever, as well as Massey's 'pressure' thing they had going on. The lever was stuck in the 'Pressure' position. While Dad and I were trying the fix that, the whole thing snapped where it connects to the hydraulic valve. It's now permanently stuck in 'pressure' position. Simplest question - is going to use 3PH implements with the lift arms under constant pressure going to harm anything? My understanding is that this was a thing where if you were pulling something, you'd hook up a special hitch and use the 3PH to apply the implement weight to the rear tires, giving more traction. Shouldn't kill say a rototiller or something, correct?
