Known Issues
I'm looking for a solution to maintain my long hedge and got recommended a PTO driven hedge shear. I went to Yanmar, Kubota, Iseki and it feels like they all want to up sell me a tractor with a hydrostatic transmission. I was wondering some people in this sub have experience with a hedge shear on a mechanical tractor? Is it really that much harder or impossible? I used a mechanical tractor a very long time ago with a double clutch but apparently they don't make compact tractors with a double clutch anymore. Currently I'm looking at the following hydro models: Kubota B2261 (26hp) Iseki TLE3410 (same price but 40hp) Yanmar SA426 (10% cheaper also 26hp) Avant second hand is a possibility too but about 30% more expensive then the Kubota A mechanical transmission on these models (except the Avant) are about 2/3 of the price. I have no experience with automatic transmissions or tractors, I always have driven a manual car. Thanks for the help!
