John Deere SX85

On certain side-by-side vehicles, the original (factory-installed) engine oil filter may have been manufactured incorrectly and could leak. Oil leaking or spraying onto a hot engine or exhaust component could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the engine oil filter.

On certain side-by-side ATVs, the fuel line connectors in the engine compartment may not have been properly connected. If the connectors were to separate, the engine would stall and fuel would be sprayed in the engine compartment. Fuel could also continue to be sprayed while attempts are made at re-starting the engine. Fuel leakage could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect the fuel line connectors.

The recalled lawn mowers are green with yellow trim and have either GX85 or SX 85 on the side of the riding mower and a John Deere symbol on the front end and involve the following machines: Model Serial Numbers GX85 MOGX85X145887 through 149328 SX85 MOSX85X125374 through 126508

PTO shift level cable failure on LA100 tractor, resulting in inability to engage or disengage the PTO system.

User reports that their 1979 JD 214 is missing an outer pulley on the PTO system. Additionally, the PTO stays running even when the lever is turned off.

After 15 minutes of PTO engagement, mower blows smoke and stalls. Oil fills intake from PCV system. Root cause identified as worn piston rings and glazed cylinders allowing exhaust gases to pressurize crankcase. Issue persisted even after engine rebuild with new rings, pistons, cylinder honing, and full gasket replacement.

S120 mower within warranty; belt wearing through protective cover creating safety hazard. Removed deck for cleaning; customer service claimed removal voided warranty.
