Bought a S170 from Lowes. Changed oil with EZ oil change and immediately tractor engine problems. John Deere changed engine that was ruined at 33.9 hrs. Got tractor back in time for winter. At 14hrs new engine, engine trouble again. Jasper John Deere reports ruined engine yet again. Total tractor hour time is 49 hours with 2 engines. John Deere states brand new (14hr) engine warrantied for 6 month

I purchased a John Deere S170 garden tractor. Cuts ok, deck rattles like crazy. I have 5.5 hours on it and it's back at the dealer with a engine issue, smokes bad. Not too impressed with my first new John Deere, bought from Lowe's on father's day.
