When turning ignition to start, produces one loud click rather than rapid series of clicks. Starter tested good at parts house. New battery installed. Flywheel not locked up. Issue persists after starter and solenoid replacement.

TDLR: spent £229,000 +vat on a fendt 940MT and after 600 hours I am being quoted £125,000 to trade it in. 2 years ago the farm bought a 940MT that had done 600 hours (1200 hours left on the warranty) for £229,000 +VAT. I have only just found out that it is on its second engine and that they melt like butter. So I was looking at a John Deere and asked a John Deere dealership what price I could get for the crawler (1200h) and he came back to me saying the best he could get from all the fendt dealerships he had been in contact with was £125,000 due to it being on its second engine and no one wanting them. Have I been ripped off, can I do anything about it or should I just accept my loss and use it until the engine breaks and write it off? Just to add I did not take part in the purchasing of this vehicle.

John Deere AMT600 with the Kawasaki KF82D-X engine. When turning ignition to start, there's just one loud click. Not a rapid series of clicks like a dead battery. Removed starter and solenoid, had it tested at parts house. Tested good. It did shoot the bushing off the end but worked as it should. Re-installed. Had a new battery so threw it on. Same results. Flywheel is not locked up. What am I missing and how should I continue with diagnosis? Thinking of hooking starter direct to battery with ignition on and see if the motor will turn over to rule out starter. Beyond that, the ignition is the only thing I can think of but I'm open to any ideas. Thanks in advance!
