Charging system not regulating voltage properly
medium

Charge light illuminates when PTO is engaged. Stator produces 35V AC output, but regulator outputs only battery voltage (12.4V at idle, drops to 12.3V with PTO engaged). All other charging system components test good (AC input, ground, switched power, battery wiring). Suspected faulty voltage regulator.

GX345 not charging?
low

Need some small engine help, basically just confirm my suspicions. John Deere GX345, Kawasaki 20 hp 2 cylinder, charge light comes on when the PTO is engaged. Around 35v AC out of the stator, battery voltage out of the regulator. 6 wire regulator. Good AC voltage into the regulator, good ground, good switched power, and the wiring to the battery from the regulator is good. The 6th wire is for the charge light. 12.4v at all engine speeds, drops to 12.3v with PTO engaged. I'm thinking bad regulator.
