I bought a John Deere Model e160 riding mower through a dealer (United Ag and Turf) about 3 years ago. My decision to buy a John Deere product was that its brand had a longstanding reputation for quality and reliability. However my experience did not align with their reputation. After only 41 hours of use, I could not get it to turn over. I followed all of the recommended maintenance and couldn't

Difficult cold start - multiple cranking attempts required

Cold starting requires 30+ turn attempts before engine cranks normally. Solenoid engages but engine does not crank. Semi-cold starts require 5-6 attempts. Warm starts function normally. Battery charge is good.
