If the lawn tractor serial number is not on the firm's website and the transmission had been replaced from March 2016 through August 2017, consumers should contact their John Deere service dealer to check if the recall applies to their replacement service transmission.

D105 42" mower exhibits transmission shifting problems and loss of movement capability. Issue escalates from occasional to almost continuous within first 40 hours of operation. A recall was issued for the same model and manufacturing period, but some units with identical symptoms were excluded from the recall list. Repair cost exceeds $1200 for a $1500 mower.

I bought the D105 Ride-on Lawnmower because I was always told that once you own a John Deere you wouldn't want anything else. Well, that was a load of crap. This lawnmower has been maintained since the first oil change. I have had in the shop 3 times for multiple problems. The tires are worthless! I really believe that the parts on this tractor are brought in from China and assembled here in the U
