This recall involves 1023E, 1025R and 2025R Compact Utility Tractors with the model number and "John Deere" printed on the hood. The recalled tractors are green and yellow, and were sold with both opened and closed operator stations. The serial numbers of tractors included in this recall can be found at www.deere.com. Click on "Parts & Service" and scroll to "Recall" or go to www.deere.com/en/parts-and-service/recall-information/. The serial number is located on the frame, on the front right side of the tractor, near the engine.
This recall involves Gator utility vehicles with model number XUV590E, XUV590M, or XUV590M S4 printed on the hood. "John Deere" and "Gator" are also printed on the cargo box. The recalled utility vehicles have side-by-side seating for two or four people and were sold in green and yellow, olive & black, or TrueTimber® Kanati® Camo colors. Known Issues
PTO shift level cable failure on LA100 tractor, resulting in inability to engage or disengage the PTO system.
Lawn tractor fails to start after multiple repair attempts including head gasket replacement, carburetor replacement, new battery, and filter changes. White smoke observed during operation and starting attempts.
Tractor under recall since October 2024 with 'do not use' safety directive. Customer unable to use machine and reported parts unavailability and waiting lists for repairs. Warranty had expired prior to recall issuance.
When turning ignition to start, produces one loud click rather than rapid series of clicks. Starter tested good at parts house. New battery installed. Flywheel not locked up. Issue persists after starter and solenoid replacement.
Engine failed after approximately 33 months of use, resulting in a gaping hole in the side where the starter attaches. Required complete engine replacement. User reports regular oil changes were performed.
