Known Issues
Engine running rough with oil pressure warning light illumination during loader work. Oil level was slightly elevated. Issue persisted after oil and filter change. Possible causes include fuel in oil, clogged filter, or internal engine lubrication failure.
Engine runs for approximately 10 minutes after mower drive shaft is engaged, then suddenly shuts off and cannot be restarted for an extended period. User suspects potential overheating despite new coolant at full level.
Hey, ive got a Question about the mower of my JD755. My JD runs great. But when i turn on my drive shaft and run the mower it runs good for about 10 minutes then it suddenly turns off and i cant turn it on again for a while. Is it a heating problem? My coolant is new and full. Dont really get the problem maybe someone can help
I own a John Deere 755 with 1643 hours. I was doing some loader work the other day when the engine started running rough and the oil pressure light illuminated. I immediately turned it off and checked the oil. Oil level was a little high, but decided to change it to see if maybe there was fuel in the oil or the filter was clogged. I very briefly started it up with the same issue. Has anyone run across this problem or have any suggestions to what may be causing this? Thanks for your help.
Yesterday I purchased a JD 755 at an estate sale for $5k. I had been planning on buying a shiny brand new tractor next spring (probably JD 2025r) but felt like this would be better financially for me. I recently acquired some property and primarily needed a tractor for brush-hogging about 7 acres. The tractor came with a FEL, 48 inch brush hog, and a blade. It is 4WD and has ~3800 hours on it. (3 cylinder Yanmar). I checked oil, air, fuel filters they all did not look abused. (oil was maybe a little on the full side. Tested out hydraulics and everything appeared working good. Overall tractor appears in good condition, starts right up when you turn key. I am curious if I got a good deal, fair deal, or bad deal. It has been a while since I have owned any property/tractors. One other thing, I drove the tractor home yesterday, (I live about 3 miles from where I purchased it). While I was driving it suddenly tractor powered down to the point where I could no longer drive, basically it was at almost sub idle and would occasionally surge, after about a minute or two it throttled back up. Then about five minutes later it did the same thing and then died, in my driveway. I let it sit and put new fuel in it. I then started it up and now it is running great again, ran it for about 2 hours and drove it around and have had no issues. I am assuming this might have been some bad/old fuel or maybe I ran to low or out fuel if the fuel gauge isnt working properly. Curious as to your opinion on the deal and problem I had. Sorry for long post, and thanks for any input.
