Known Issues
I bought a new X750 in May 2025 after having the same exact model for 6 years and no problems with the 2019 X750. This new tractor has been in the shop at a minimum of 5 weeks and am told the John Deere promise is for 30 days. This garden tractor from the first time I mowed with it sounded like the mower blade hitting the mower deck. I tried to pinpoint when it was doing this when I hit a bump. I
Hi all I’m starting to get fed up with this junk and ready to just go buy a kubota, a few years ago I had a new engine put in and everything was fine and pto worked. Now I can’t get the pto to work what so ever. I have checked and replaced the following, seat safety switch, pto switch, pto solenoid and made sure the solenoid valve wasn’t sticking inside the valve body itself. When I turn pto on nothing happens and 2 pto lights on the dash just flash 540 and 750-540E. Fluid is also new. When I tested the solenoid I can’t get that be magnetic (which it should be). The wires going to the solenoid also test 12v. I’m stumped and running out of ideas. Does this have a pto fuse anywhere? And where is it? It only has a rear pto. Anyone have ideas? Suggestion?
I bought a new X750 in May 2025 after having the same exact model for 6 years and no problems with the 2019 X750. This new tractor has been in the shop at a minimum of 5 weeks and am told the John Deere promise is for 30 days. This garden tractor from the first time I mowed with it sounded like the mower blade hitting the mower deck. I tried to pinpoint when it was doing this when I hit a bump. I found that it did the same ratcheting sound when the deck wasn't on. I talked to the dealer I purchased it from and they were busy at this time to pick it up and I was fine with that since I could still mow with it. After a week or more in the shop they found it was the fan blade hitting the radiator. John Deere sent them after finding this issue another addition to the motor mount to the back side of the motor to help support the motor mount. This didn't fix it so they added another bracket to the other side of the tractor. More They noticed it was vibrating really bad at an idle. So the idle speed was turned up enough to help the vibration. Keep in mind I have my old X750 thankfully to mow with as the dealer was nice enough to let me use. They also put a new radiator in since the blade damaged the radiator. They returned the tractor and when I tried to mow the mower deck wouldn't turn on. So they brought my old tractor back again and picked it up. The mower deck was also very noisy and the mechanic said two of the three spindles were bad. I got the tractor back again and they said to hang onto my old one and see if everything is fixed. The first thing I noticed is now the steering is messed up. When the steering wheel is tipped down in the position I mow it feels as if something now is binding and also like limited power steering. They picked it up three weeks ago and still at the dealership. They thought it was fixed but wasn't same issue. So now another part getting put on it to try and fix it. When is enough, enough? I want this piece of crap replaced. I have had several X750 units and one 6 years old with NO service at all done on it and this one is in the shop as much as I have had it. I am over waiting for all the stuff to get fixed and if John Deere doesn't want to do anything to get me traded out of it I will trade it for a different brand. My name is Dan **. Waverly Iowa. I have the receipt but so does P & K in Waverly where this was purchased. this is the worst garden tractor I ever purchased through John Deere. Now I totally lost confidence in the tractor and it is going to be traded either for another Deere or some other brand. I am the Bremer County Sheriff in this county and several citizens said they wouldn't have put up with this as long as I have. So now I want something done. Thank you and hope to hear back from someone.
JD 750 Compact Tractor - Was using on uneven land and a fitting from a steering rod punctured the oil filter. Replaced filter and it is hitting again. I used a JD branded filter but wondering if I need a more compact filter or if I have a bigger issue that allowed for the contact to happen. Thanks
I was recently given a 1981 John Deere (Yanmar) 750 with 2,700 hours clocked. It's obviously old and has some subpar repairs made on a few things. It works great but I'm trying to make sure it's been tuned up properly. Is this black smoke from the exhaust manifold a cause for concern? Only happens for a few seconds at start up then stops smoking. Only tried starting in cold so far. Otherwise, what are some things you recommend I check/repair/replace to make sure it's running smooth? This is my first tractor. I have 4 sloped rocky wooded acres in Northwest Arkansas to use it for. It has the 67 front loader and a 5 tine ripper with blade. I have the Technical Manual for any repair instructions.
