I purchased a john deere 4410 tractor new in 2003 from Foley Implements. The tractor only has 277 hours on it and I have had it in the shop numerous times some with big surprises. Under warranty it was there several times. Now that the warranty is out the PTO went out for the tune of over $600 all electrical. Hey there experts who know far more than me, I have a 2002 4410, that has recently started stalling. It runs fine for a few minutes, then chokes and stalls or idles super rough before dying. I can get it to restart, and run again, for just a few minutes. Fuel filter and all other normal maintenance was done a few months ago, but repair tech mention "injector pump" may have an issue, and likely needs rebuild. For like $3500. oof. Off the cuff, do those symptoms match a dying injector pump, and if so - are the rebuilt ones online worth it? And are they nightmarish to install? (i.e. do i need the shop to do it?) Thanks in advance for any ideas.
