Cracked 4020 intake manifold

Recently I bought a jd 4020 gas, It runs rough, smokes a little, and throttle has little response. Also when I start it it revvs up. I noticed this morning that the intake manifold has a few cracks in it. Could this be the issue or am I looking at multiple issues? I believe it's a 1969

I have a problem one of the injector return boots it won’t last I replaced it and it lasted one hour and sprang a leak it was coming right out the middle I did get it at tractor supply I got two more today from JD. Could it be plugged and not letting the fuel return causing this or something else? I got the tractor from family and I have replaced all the boots because a few were leaking a little bit this one I have replaced twice now. Any help or ideas greatly appreciated
