Known Issues
Hi guys I have been looking for a classic John Deere 112 because my father had one when I was young and I am closing on a house with 1.6 acres of land. I have been looking for a hydraulic lift with a plowed because I live in the northeast. Does this mower look in decent shape? Outside of the rear hub spindles should I look out for anything? Does the plow attachment look right? Is it the Kohler engine? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/756363468352423/ If I am breaking any rules please let me know and I will correct my post.
I got a JD112 from a friend for 100 bucks. It has a bad starter, and when it did start after 10 minutes of cranking and almost a full can of starter fluid it barely had enough power to go from the trailer to my yard where it currently sits. I put a new carb, new fuel lines, fuel filter and air filter and now she wont start. Through pure luck I have found a 18HP brighs and straton for $50 and I figured if I'm going to be messing with an engine might aswell put a newer one. Question is will the frame and everything else on the mower be able to support a 18hp vs the 10hp techumseh hh100 currently in it? Not weight wise but power wise. Update: still trying to get the old engine going, the starter will turn and adding a bit of engine starter to the carb will get combustion. Unfortunately the starter seems to disengage just a couple strokes in so it wont start.
